Whenever I'm free, I'd make sure I spend some time reflecting whether I'm doing what I like, whether what I do has a purpose/meaning. I believe many people if not most, live their lives blindly. That includes myself. Some do what they don't like as they have no choice to choose. As a Malaysian, I think most of us have a choice.
The problem is, our decisions are always influenced by our peer and the media. Thus we'd find ourselves ended up doing something because we think we should. We become a doctor, lawyer, engineer, accountant, etc because of the influences. But, do we really love to live the rest of our lives being that?
I believe, when we don't feel like waking up early in the Monday morning or when we're having the so called Monday blue, we need to think again whether this is the life we want. If the job is something we like, would we feel so? We might, but not so much.
Taking up accountancy in the college is 1 of the worst decisions I've made in my life(hahahaha). I know I'm not that type of person who can bury himself in a pile of papers(boring papers). When I heard people saying "you have to force yourself to like it" or "we have no choice since we're already in this field", I know they're heading towards the wrong direction. Afterall, why force yourself doing something you don't like for the rest of your life?
We think having "discipline" is good and we should have that to make sure we do our best even when we're doing something blindly. Do you wanna be a gate guard? Does it make any sense to stand there whole day long when you can actually sit on a chair in front of the gate?
For now, I'm glad I know I'm not gonna continue doing something I don't like blindly. I believe I can do some other things I'd enjoy doing even though I'm holding an accountancy qualification. Everything happens for a reason, I hope this too has its own reason.
